I'm Gillian (also known as GiGi, or just G), and it's my pleasure to virtually meet you. I am triple threat and native New York City gal, who grew up with Broadway lights in my backyard. From a young age, my mom exposed to art at the MOMA, Opera at the Met, ballet at Lincoln Center, Shakespeare in the park, and her 70's jams at home. As you can imagine, these artistic influences shaped me into a thespian at a very young age, and continue to influence my craft today. My passion for the arts is ever expanding and fuels my fervor for life.
I am a proud alum of the Professional Performing Arts High School. Located in Times Square, I took the 6 and NQR trains every morning for middle and high school for 7 years. It was worth every swipe. I've been over thirty musicals and several plays in my short lifetime, both in New York City and at Ball State University. I've won multiple National Youth Arts Awards for my acting, dancing, and singing roles, as well as my choreography work. Recently, I graduated from Ball State with a BFA in Musical Theatre and minors in Strategic Communications and Dance Performance, Magna Cum Laude. I am a proud sister of Chi Omega and National Member of Alpha Psi Omega Theatre Fraternity.
In my spare time, you can find me writing creatively and academically, thrifting the newest fashion trends, working on my zen at hot yoga, teaching fitness classes at LA Fitness and for charity, hanging with my kitten Raven and little white toy poodle Cha-Cha, or hanging with my single mom, who is my best friend. I love being at home, cuddled up with my best friends and family, almost as much as I love running around the city or enjoying the tranquility of nature. My city will always have my heart, but I love to fulfill my curiosity by traveling to places like Paris, Italy, Israel, and China!
My goal is to tell stories that simultaneously encourage audiences to delve deeper into their understanding of their world, while offering an escape from daily life. I am a proud feminist and I would like to use my artistry to advocate for and uplift those who've been quelled.
I am almost as academically driven as I am artistically. If I wasn't a performing artist, I would be a life coach. While theaters were shut down due to CoVID, I earned my Real Estate license. I am now working as a Florida REALTOR® with Keller Williams Coastal Properties and Palm Beach Island. My speciality is Palm Beach County Luxury Real Estate. Please free to contact me for all your real estate needs nationwide!
Call me "legally blonde", but law school is on the horizon, as well. At Ball State University, I was very involved in the Journalism department. I have ran the social media accounts for over seven productions and written press releases. In high school, I was selected for and attended the Washington Journalism and Media Conference at George Mason University. There, I had the opportunity to delve deeper into my passion for journalism, marketing, and branding.
Recently, I have dabbled in event planning. In spring of junior year, I was the student co-coordinator for the Ball State 2020 New York Showcase. I coordinated the invites, RSVPs, and communication with agents, casting director, managers, as well as the venue, caterers, bartenders, etc. The event was in March 2020 at Theatre Row and it was beautiful!
Writing, both creative and academic, is one of my strengths and main sources of fulfillment in my free time. I am enthusiastic about many genres of writing, including free writing, playwriting, song writing, show reviews, research papers, journalism, and more. I published a copyrighted original song, guided by composers Kooman and Dimond. As a creative and analytical thinker, I believe I can make any piece of writing sound professional and engaging.
In addition, I have been a dance captain, choreographer, and director for several shows. I have choreographed my own pieces such as all male versions of "Cell Block Tango" and "Don't Tell Mama" for "Roles You'll Never Play" showcases in NYC. Choreographing and telling stories through movement is one of my favorite ways to contribute to a production, and my extensive dance training has helped me find my voice as a choreographer.
While performing is my main passion, I am fascinated by the casting world, and would like to flex my muscles in casting and production. I have experience producing several successful cabaret and showcase fundraisers in New York City, for which I created show merchandise, organized sales and galas, recruited volunteers, produced written and digital programs, organized spaces, and handled ticket sales. I have cast, directed and choreographed multiple showcase fundraisers that have proven very successful in raising money for not for profits.
My altruism has led me to be an active member of organizations such as Girls Learn International, Make A Wish, and Exploring the Arts (where I had the opportunity to perform with Tony Bennett at Cipriani's). Charity work and giving back is very important to me.
